Tag for Coop City?

I just added the big Coop City in Sion, and since I go there to buy food I tagged it supermarket :) Clearly not appropriate for the big Coop/Migros multipurpose stores, how should it be tagged? Thanks! Mohamed

Orthophoto Fribourg

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the state of Fribourg was nice enough to let us use freely their orthophoto from the canton. They even set up a WMS server for us, at the following location: http://geo.fr.ch/wms/orthophoto_2005_fribourg.php? Further details are on the french Wiki page for Fribourg (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/FR:Switzerland:Fribourg). My german being what it is, I'll leave the translation to somebody else... Please make sure that you tag the elements you add based on this orthophoto with the appropriate "source" tag, as explained on the Wiki. I've already started fixing and adding things in the city of Fribourg, but a *lot* of work remains. I hope many people will use the photo to improve the map of the Fribourg canton. Michel.

Arthur hat sich vermutlich auf die recht hohe Fehlerquote in der Liste bezogen. Die Daten die jetzt in OSM sind durch unsere Korrekturen qualitativ deutlich besser als die offiziellen Daten. Das ganze ist übrigens auch in der UK ähnlich, dort gibt es Liste mit ca. 90'000 Haltestellen, die ca 5% Fehlerquote hatte. Simon -- Diese Nachricht wurde von meinem Android-Mobiltelefon mit K-9 Mail gesendet. Dafür, dass ein neuer Eintrag erscheint oder ein Eintrag korrigiert wird, werden Prozesse mit Anträge, Prüfungen, Genehmigungen, Einhalten von Namenskonventionen, etc durchlaufen. Es gibt Verantwortlichkeiten, Zuständigkeiten, Verordnungen, etc. Das ist alles relativ schwergewichtig und im klassischen Sinn "qualitätssichernd". Ich sehe nicht, wie sich das OSM-Projekt mit seinem JeKaMi-Ansatz da beteiligen könnte. Bus Stop/Line Operator (PAG)

Hi Most Bus Stations/Lines in Switzerland are operated by PAG (PostAuto Schweiz AG). At the 10th of June 2011 User xylome did a mass edit (1) on 650 nodes and 79 relations to change PAG => PostAuto Schweiz AG in different languages. This was done on a bounding box which covers almost whole Switzerland. The remaining 10000 nodes with operator=PAG were somehow missed. Is there any explanation of this action? The PAG obviously comes from the Didok Import. With a few exceptions, operator contains always an acronym. (2) What do we consider the right value? Hunde-WCs?

Hallo zäme War heute draussen und hab einige Fuss/Radwege gemappt. Dabei hab ich ziemlich viele Robidog-Kübel gesehen. Wär für Hundehalter sicher interessant zu wissen, wo sich der nächste Kübel befindet. Werden die Robidog-Stellen (bzw Hunde-WCs allgemein, gibt ja noch andere als nur Robidog) schon irgendwie gemappt? Habe im Wiki und hier auf der Mailingliste nichts dazu gefunden. Vielleicht etwas ala amenity=dog_toilet oder amenity=dog_waste_disposal? Gruss Danilo

canton codes

hi As there are several cities/towns/villages with the same name in Switzerland canton codes are used to distinguish them. The codes are not used consistently. * Sometimes they are used, sometimes not (mixed within town). * Used with and without parentheses (BE) / BE, (AG) / AG IMHO id would make sense to have some guidelines how to use them. The Village names are used in several tags, maybe we should apply different rules to them? * addr:city * name (of place, public_transport station and others) * uic_name * ...? What do we consider as the "official" Name of a town? Beni
