Hello RB/Pan, To be honest, debating with you Is a bit frustrating because you seem to obviously ignore the strong points made by Sarah & Marc, and furthermore you don’t answer the precise questions that were directed to you. As I see it, Sarah and Marc have demonstrated that your over-use of nodes is simply wrong from a conceptual point of view. Thus, we are not anymore in the realm of “tastes and colors”, as you seem to understand it. Frankly, I hope you will acknowledge that because, if not, this thread will not come to a constructive conclusion. My “Swiss Compromise”-Proposal to get there would be: 1) The community acknowledges your effort in detailing landuse=forest mapping on a quite impressive area. 2) On your side, you acknowledge that you created landuse cover objects with an excessive number of nodes and you adapt your future mapping activity in accordance. 3) The community does not start a massive effort to simplify the objects you created, because there are lots of other things where mapping energy can be directed at, bringing much more added value to the map. 4) On the appropriate pages in the Wiki, we insert the points made by Sarah and Marc and lay down that it is not appropriate to map forest limits with more than one node every 10 m (or so). This in order to prevent that mappers in a “gamification-mood” come to the idea to artificially create an excessive number of nodes with the main purpose of improving their ranking in the contributor’s statistics (@Pan: Maybe you did notice that you are currently ranked #1 in Switzerland’s OSMstats?). What do you think about these proposals? Michael

PotM CH 2023-09: Öffnungszeiten | Opening Hours | Heures d'ouverture

Liebe Mapperinnen und Mapper Im Monat September 2023 geht es darum, Öffnungszeiten in OSM zu erfassen und aktuell zu halten. Berücksichtigt werden alle Änderungen an den Tags "opening_hours:*=*", also auch z.B. opening_hours:kitchen=*. Tipp: Mit der Webapp "Web to OSM Opening Hours" kann man einfach den Text der Öffnungszeiten von einer Webseite in die App kopieren (paste); sie wandelt den Text direkt in die opening_hours-Syntax um: [https://osm-de.github.io/WebToOSMOH/ . In diesem Zusammenhang ist auch der Tag bzw. Key "website" sehr nützlich. Öffnungszeiten und Abweichungen davon sind oft auf Webseiten zu finden. Wichtig: Beim Eintragen oder Aktualisieren der Öffnungszeiten sollten auch die Werte der beiden Tags `check_date` und `check_date:opening_hours` aktualisiert werden (diese beiden Tags zählen nicht für die Auswertung). Und nicht vergessen, den Hashtag #potmch zu setzen! Quelle für eine Naturschzutzgebiet/ source pour une réserve naturelle

Liebe alle, Im Moment stehen der Wald und das Naturschutzgebiet in der gleichen Relation <https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/162735/>. Das war vermutlich vor 11 Jahren <https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/11633702#map=11/46.3718/6.5396> gut genug, aber stimmt heutzutage gar nicht mehr. Weiss jemand, ob es eine offene Quelle gibt für so ein Naturschutzgebiet? Cette réserve naturelle se trouve dans le même multipolygone que la forêt, ce qui ne correspond pas à la réalité. Quelqu'un a-t-il connaissance d'une source autorisée qui permettrait de remédier à cette situation? Bonne journée.

Project of the Month (PotM) CH: Schulen / Schools / Écoles! (Juni 2021)

Liebe OSM-Interessierte, liebe Mapper:innen Cher personnes intéressées à l'OSM, cher mappeurs En français ci-dessous Einige Leute vom Schweizer OSM Chapter, SwissOSM, planen schon seit einiger Zeit eigene Aktionen unter dem Namen "Projekt des Monats Schweiz" (PotM CH). Dabei liessen wir uns vom franzöischen Project-du-Mois und vom deutschen "Schwerpunkt der Woche" inspirieren. Dies ist nun das erste "PotM CH Mail" dazu. Im allerersten Beim "Projekt des Monats Schweiz" vom Juni 2021 geht es darum, Schulen zu erfassen! Schulen waren auch das Thema am Mapathon anlässlich des vergangenen OSM-Sonntag vom 6. Juni, der anlässlich der FOSSGIS-Konferenz 2021 stattfand. Bei solchen PotM geht es darum, gemeinsam an einem bestimmten OpenStreetMap-Thema einen Monat lang gezielt zu arbeiten. Das dient der gezielten Verbesserung der Daten. Und Mapper:innen können auf ein Thema aufmerksam gemacht werden. Es gibt zurzeit zwei wichtige Webseiten zu PotM CH: * Erstens die dreisprachige Webseite (noch im Aufbau), kurz "OSM-Wiki" genannt. https://wiki.osm.org/wiki/PotM_CH * Zweitens die Superset Webapp, kurz "Dashboard" genannt: https://potm.osm.ch/superset/dashboard/12/ Erwartet zunächst noch nicht zuviel von einer PotM, denn Mapper:innen sind nicht immer gut zu erreichen - mal sehen! Im Dashboard oben sieht man u.a. schön den "Peak" als am Schulen am OSM-Sonntag erfasst wurden. Haben Sie selber eine Idee für ein PotM CH? Dann lesen auf dem OSM-Wiki weiter. Freundliche Grüsse, Stefan --- Certaines personnes du chapitre suisse de l'OSM, SwissOSM, planifient depuis un certain temps leurs propres actions sous le nom de "Projet du mois Suisse" (PotM CH). Nous nous sommes inspirés du Projet-du-Mois français et du "Schwerpunkt der Woche" allemand. Il s'agit du premier "PotM CH Mail". Le tout premier "Projet du mois Suisse" de juin 2021 concerne la cartographie des écoles ! Les écoles ont également été le sujet du Mapathon à l'occasion du dernier Dimanche OSM du 6 juin, qui a eu lieu à l'occasion de la conférence FOSSGIS 2021. Les PotMs comme celui-ci consistent à travailler ensemble sur un sujet spécifique d'OpenStreetMap de manière ciblée pendant un mois. Cela permet d'améliorer les données de manière ciblée. Et les mappeurs peuvent être mis au courant d'un sujet. Il existe actuellement deux sites web importants pour le PotM CH: * Tout d'abord, le site web trilingue (encore en construction), appelé "OSM Wiki" pour faire court. https://wiki.osm.org/wiki/PotM_CH * Deuxièmement, la webapp de Superset, appelée "Dashboard" pour faire court: https://potm.osm.ch/superset/dashboard/12/ N'attendez pas encore trop d'un PotM, car les mappeurs ne sont pas toujours faciles à joindre - voyons voir! Dans le tableau de bord ci-dessus, vous pouvez voir joliment, entre autres, le nombre d'oscillations qui ont été enregistrées dans les écoles le Dimanche OSM. Avez-vous une idée pour un PotM CH? Alte URLs von talk-ch-Nachrichten funktionieren nicht mehr

Hallo zusammen Mir ist aufgefallen, dass durch die Einführung des GUIs Postorius auf der talk-ch-Mailingliste die alten URLs von Nachrichten nicht mehr funktionieren, z. B.: https://lists.openstreetmap.ch/pipermail/talk-ch/2020-January/010490.html Sehr wahrscheinlich ist das die neue URL derselben Nachricht: https://lists.openstreetmap.ch/archives/list/talk-ch@openstreetmap.ch/messa… Dies ist etwas unschön. Unter anderem auf https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Switzerland/Datasources gibt es einige Links, die nun nicht mehr funktionieren. Weiss jemand, ob es eine Möglichkeit gibt, die alten URLs automatisch in neue, funktionierende umzuwandeln? Grüsse Raphael

Micro Mapping von Schweizer Passstrassen, wer hilft mit?

Hoi zämä Ich und ein paar andere Mapper haben angefangen die vielen Schweizerpässe besser zu mappen. Konkret wurden viele Passstrassen penibelst genau auf die Mittellinie gemappt. Dies weil wir so geile Luftbilder haben :-) . Zusätzlich habe ich viele Strassenschilder der Passhöhe ergänzt. Dies werden ja gerne für Fotos gebraucht. Wobei ich gelernt habe, dass die Höhenmeter auf den Tafeln sehr inkonsistent angegeben werden. 1234m vs 1234 m. ü. M. vs 1234 m ü M (Dies Aufgrund von viele persönlichen Survey-Fotos). Zugleich habe ich viele der kleinen Parkbuchten als Parkplätze ergänzt. Um das ganze schön auf die Spitze zu treiben, habe ich nun angefangen die Strassenflächen zu mappen. Dies werden auf openstreetmap.org nicht angezeigt, aber Apps wie osmand und organicmaps können dies. Grüezi Mittenand, On Friday, September 29th at 17:30 the second edition of the Zürich Maps & Geo Stammtisch will be hosted again at the Meta Zürich office. All are welcome to join, and we have a few slots open for a lightning talk of any time, including OSM Projects or even a summary of your personal mapping accomplishment. The goal is to gather map-minded people around the region for an evening of sharing interesting topics and socializing. Free soft drinks are available, some snacks too, and I am working on some pizza and beer funding (feel free to bring your own specialty drink as you like too).
