Ça serait cool si Stéphane B. Pouvait nous faire une présentation de ses travaux. Salutations Frédéric

Association & Via Francigena & Question
by inetis - Pierre-André Vullioud 05 Jul '11

Hi, Yes, it'll be great to have an "official" voice for OSM in Switzerland. We can use it to contact partners to include data in OSM. Good news, the Via Francigena is completed for the Swiss part have a look at : http://hiking.lonvia.de/fr/relation/124582 more informations : http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Via_Romea_Francigena GPX file from Lonvia : http://hiking.lonvia.de/fr/routebrowser/124582/gpx I have a question. I checked the Swiss Via Francigena part with the relation analyzer: http://analyser.openstreetmap.fr/cgi-bin/index.py I had some errors on places and parking. To remove this error, I had to create a way through the place instead of adding the entire place. Exemple : Place de la navigation in Lausanne (I added the grey line) Do you think it's the correct way to do that ? 2. Mapping Party Rapperswil und 20. OSM-Treffen 9. Juli 2011 (Reminder)
by Stefan Keller 03 Jul '11

03 Jul '11

Juni 2011 02:12 schrieb Stefan Keller <sfkeller(a)gmail.com>: > Am Samstag, 9. Via Francigena & Question

It's fine, too. > Personally, I tend to put places entirely into the relation. In parking > lots, I generally add the ways where the cars can drive as > highway=service and use those for the hiking route. Thanks Sarah for your message. I have done ways throw places/parkings mainly for having a clean GPX file for the walkers. I have contacted the FrancigenaLibrari to ask them if we can use the GPX files of the italian part on OSM. It's the official walk route. http://www.francigenalibrari.beniculturali.it/news1_en.html The idea is to use them to complete the relation but not adding ways. I have no answer yet. Hi Simon, > Why not English? That could be a solution for the start. But after few pages in every national languages will be great. Good start for the status :) Virtual meeting and voting would be a nice way to have more participation. For the web site, I know the developer (a swiss guy) of this tools http://www.joomlapolis.com/cb-solutions/cbsubs It's a full automatic system to manage subscriptions and payment (paypal or postfinance). I can help to put it online. Thanks Pierre-André

XAPI Switzerland
by Beni Buess 30 Jun '11

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi I've set up a XAPI for Switzerland [1] using JXAPI[2]. Usage is described at [3]. The database does not get updated automatically at the moment, but i'm working on this. The goal is to apply the minutely diffs. I'd really appreciate if some of you could help me testing this and report any problems you have using the XAPI so they can get sorted out and the XAPI would be in a usable state once I managed the minutely update. current coverage
by Beni Buess 27 Jun '11

27 Jun '11

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi I've updated the current_coverage page [1] in the wiki with recent data. What seems intresting to me are the numbers for primary/secondars highways. I've not looked at the two vector datasets, but it seems to me that there is a difference in the classification/tagging. I can't believe that we have just mapped half of all primary roads. Does anybody have an idea on how to examine this further? The railway numbers are probably that high because of the mapping of single railtracks. I still have to come up with a query to calculate the forest/wood area. Any hints? Fwd: Languages on list
by Mohamed Ellozy 26 Jun '11

26 Jun '11

> > Hi Folks > > There are also a few none Swiss people lurking on this list, with > varying degrees of ability in Swiss national Languages. > > We form a minority here, but discussion in English helps us as well. > > Thanks > Andrew > We for a small minority, but I am posting this to confirm that we do exist :), and that language is a problem for some of us. I suppose the solution for us is to use Google Translate, though it is an abomination (why is Karte *always *translated as card, whatever the context???) but it helps. In two weeks I will be coming to your country for my annual hiking holiday, and hope to do some mapping (hiking trails and POIs in alpine villages). Mohamed (RetiredInNH)
