Tag for Coop City?
by Mohamed Ellozy 20 Jul '11

I just added the big Coop City in Sion, and since I go there to buy food I tagged it supermarket :) Clearly not appropriate for the big Coop/Migros multipurpose stores, how should it be tagged? Thanks! Mohamed

Fwd: [OSM-talk] Data reconciliation. Removing CT/ODbL declined users.
by Simon Poole 20 Jul '11

-- Sent from my GII mobile phone. Richard Weait <richard(a)weait.com> schrieb: Dear All, The License Working Group takes the position that it is now appropriate to begin reconciling the data touched by users who have explicitly declined CT/ODbL. LWG feels that those users who have not responded should have a grace period of another week or two. You can find the list of usernames that have declined here. http://fred.dev.openstreetmap.org/license/ This page is updated every hour. As always, map areas that you know well and in small pieces. At this point don't remove non-compliant data unless you are replacing it; another mapper may be able to replace it from local knowledge or survey. Bulk edits and or automated edits and or bots to reconcile non-compliant data are not welcome without previous, detailed discussion on the dev@ and or imports@ lists. Share your experiences to find the most effective workflows for improving OpenStreetMap data quality. - Check your local mapping area for data that is not completely CT/ODbL compliant. In Potlatch2, choose Options, and check "Show license status". There is also a licensechange plugin for JOSM. - Consider sending personal messages before you edit to those who have not accepted or those who have declined based on your judgement. Some users have declined and indicated on their user pages that they will not reconsider. We do not wish to send unwelcome or duplicate messages. See also http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Asking_users_to_accept_the_ODbL - Replace the data of users who have explicitly declined CT/ODbL with your own contributions from survey and other acceptable sources. - While this initial stage is focused on replacing data touched by users who have explicitly declined, you might find data touched by users who have not yet responded. We leave it to your judgement to replace that data now or wait another week or two. Once you begin replacing data, check on a regular basis whether the user in question hasn't changed his/her mind and has accepted CT/ODbL. Orthophoto Fribourg
by Michel Schinz 18 Jul '11

18 Jul '11

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the state of Fribourg was nice enough to let us use freely their orthophoto from the canton. They even set up a WMS server for us, at the following location: http://geo.fr.ch/wms/orthophoto_2005_fribourg.php? Further details are on the french Wiki page for Fribourg (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/FR:Switzerland:Fribourg). My german being what it is, I'll leave the translation to somebody else... Please make sure that you tag the elements you add based on this orthophoto with the appropriate "source" tag, as explained on the Wiki. I've already started fixing and adding things in the city of Fribourg, but a *lot* of work remains. I hope many people will use the photo to improve the map of the Fribourg canton. Michel.

Re: [talk-ch] Postauto-Haltestellen und DIDOK
by Simon Poole 17 Jul '11

17 Jul '11

Bus Stop/Line Operator (PAG)
by Beni Buess 16 Jul '11

16 Jul '11

Hi Most Bus Stations/Lines in Switzerland are operated by PAG (PostAuto Schweiz AG). At the 10th of June 2011 User xylome did a mass edit (1) on 650 nodes and 79 relations to change PAG => PostAuto Schweiz AG in different languages. This was done on a bounding box which covers almost whole Switzerland. The remaining 10000 nodes with operator=PAG were somehow missed. Is there any explanation of this action? The PAG obviously comes from the Didok Import. With a few exceptions, operator contains always an acronym. (2) What do we consider the right value? It would make sense to have the values consistent IMHO. Beni (1) http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/changeset/8395099 (2) http://taginfo.openstreetmap.ch/keys/operator#values

Hunde-WCs?
by Danilo 15 Jul '11

15 Jul '11

Gruss Danilo
