Local rules for Wikidata/Wikipedia

Hi everyone, I saw the other day the tool from Mateusz Koniecszny <https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/Mateusz%20Konieczny> called OSM-wikipedia-tag-validator-reports <https://matkoniecz.github.io/OSM-wikipedia-tag-validator-reports/Schweiz%20…> in the WeeklyOSM newsletter and contributed to fix reported issues a bit during the last two weeks (and I'm not the only one, thanks all, we went from ~280 issues to 50). 1) Do we have local rules for Wikidata/Wikipedia When I asked Mateusz to update the tool (it's done manually), he took the opportunity to ask if Switzerland have some local specific rules regarding Wikipedia and Wikidata. He especially asks : 1. Do you expect wikipedia tag to present if possible or is linking with just wikidata considered as OK? 2. Do you expect wikidata tag to present if possible or is linking with just wikipedia considered as OK? Do you have an opinion about that? For me, I'm tempted to say that the second statement is OK, but not the first one. 2) Automation for some "obvious" edits Some errors reported by his validator (and listed on a special page <https://matkoniecz.github.io/OSM-wikipedia-tag-validator-reports/Schweiz%20…>) are so clear that he proposed to have a bot to to fix them in an automated way. Fragwürdige Masseneinträge von Wander- und MTB-Relationen in Westösterreich und der Schweiz

Hallo, JurajRiccany hat in den letzten Tagen und Wochen massenhaft fragwürdige Wander- und Mountainbike-Relationen in Österreich eingetragen, die vsl. revertiert werden (müssen). Grund ist, dass sie in den wenigsten Fällen markiert sind. Teilweise wurden auch Seilbahnen als Fahrradrouten erfasst. Der Fall wird im (neuen) österreichischen OSM-Forum diskutiert. Da auch Gebiete in der Schweiz (v.a. Graubünden, in kleinerem Maße auch Bern und Wallis) betroffen sind, möchte ich euch über die Diskussion informieren und Gelegenheit geben, euch daran zu beteiligen. https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/fragwurdige-masseneintrage-von-wander… Es erscheint mir sinnvoll, alles ab Änderungssatz 122650781 zu revertieren. Cyclic relationships

Hi all While writing some program that works with OSM relations, I found cycles in the containment graph. For example, relation/2913585 <https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/2913585> is part of relation/12762833 <https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/12762833>, which is again part of the same relation where we started. If a naive implementation were to traverse this relationship graph, it would run into an infinite loop. This isn’t a serious problem though; checking for cycles is easy enough. But it seems like a particularly interesting type of tagging mistake, so I thought why not share the fun with you. Connecting hw=platform/public_transport=platform

Hi, Does it make sense to connect hw=platform/public_transport=platform to the road network? I started some footway mapping in Lucerne a couple of weeks ago and encountered dozens of platforms which are not connected. I also found some CS which connected the rail platforms to the network. How do we map bus platforms in Switzerland? On the kerb? On the sidewalk? In the middle of the highways? Elsewhere? Cheers, Marcel Von meinem iPhone gesendet

Charging for e-cars with trailer

We don't seem to have any modelling for charging stations that are (easy) to use with a trailer attached. So either a pull through charging location, or long parking lot with the charger likely halfway along one side. Does anybody have suggestions? Simon

englische Bevorzugung trotz name Lokalisierung

Hallo zusammen Ich habe eine kurze Frage ob name:en gegenüber name bevorzugt wird. Beispiel Paradeplatz: https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/905841 Hier wird in den Nodeausgaben, in Overpass usw. immer der Tag des name:en bevorzugt gegenüber dem name Tag. Weiss jemand wieso und wie man das übersteuern kann? Wenn ich in Nominatim "Paradeplatz" suche, erscheint als Suchergebnis auch "Parade Square". Danke für eure Aufklärungen.
