Hello, For the beta.water-fountains.org project, I want to add a property to indicate the flow rate of fountains. In wikidata, this could possibly be done with the "discharge https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P2225" property, which is currently used for rivers. I am wondering if a similar property exists in OSM. Thanks! Matthew
Hi Matthew
I found no occurrences in river but few elsewhere worldwide e.g. with drinking_water: https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/discharge#combinations Main criteria to me are if a subtag like "discharge" is continuous, and observable/reproducible be everyone. Since OSM is inclusive, I would not vote not against "discharge" in combination with amenity=fountain. I assume discharge means volume rate of water flow measured in m3/s SI units.

Thanks Stefan The flow rate at fountains is usually easily measurable with a bottle and a watch. I just realized that the key flow_rate exists (though not yet used for fountains). https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:flow_rate So I guess that answers the question. Thanks! Matthew

the flow rate of fountains
flow_rate "created" for fire hydrant look like fine also for a fountain https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:emergency%3Dfire_hydrant
