Hallo Zusammen Wie Tagt man folgende Fahrverbote? Sind die Beispiele korrekt ? 1) Verbot für Motorwagen, Motorräder und Motorfahrräder (2.14) Land- und Forstwirtschaft oder mit Ausweis gestattet motor_vehicle=agricultural;forestry;designated 2) Das Selbe, jedoch zeitlich beschränkt (Verbot z.B.: Oktober bis und mit April) Die Schilder werden am Frühling abmontiert und am Herbst wieder aufgestellt. Vielleicht wäre da noch ein <note> Tag nötig, der andere Mapper darauf hinweist, diese Eintragungen nicht zu löschen, wenn er/sie Vorort keine Tafel sieht... motor_vehicle=agricultural;forestry;designated motor_vehicle:conditional=yes @ (Mai - Sep) Gruss Leander

Unclean import of data northeast of Vevey

Dear list members I noticed that in the area northeast of Vevey a (or multiple) seemingly unclean data import was conducted about a year ago by user "mousse". One issue was that addr:street=... entries were carrying not only the street name but the house number as well. I corrected those manually and they should be fine now. Another issue is that in the same region entries exist that do use all-caps tags not used in OSM elsewhere, like DESCRIP=... You can find those using the Overpass query saved in http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/3xh These tags may contain useful data but I'm unsure if and how we should use them. What do you propose? Frage zu Namen mit St aka Sankt

Hallo, in OSM sollen die Orts- und Strassennamen mit "St." ja ausgeschrieben werden mit "Sankt" oder "Saint" (auch wenn man in OSM in der CH viele Namen mit "St." findet). Nun eine Frage: wie sieht es aus in den is_in-Tags und in den addr:city-Tags? Sollen da die Namen auch ausgeschrieben werden oder sollte man dort die offiziellen Namen nutzen - falls dieser abgekürzt ist? (siehe in GWR z.b. St. Silvester; auch Ortstafeln, Wegweiser usw werden immer mit St. Silvester geschrieben) Hello, in OSM the names with "St." should be tagged as "Sankt" or "Saint" (also, if there are foundin OSM a lot of names in CH with "St."). Now, I have a question: what's about the tags is_in=* and addr:city=*? Should the names there also write out with Sankt / Saint or should there be used the official names - if its official shorten? At June 10 17:00 MEZ Prof. Stefan Keller is speaking on "Making Maps from OpenStreetMap Data". The combination of freely accessible worldwide established OpenStreetMap (OSM) data and open source tools empower people to do their own cartographic visualization. About 160 developers from more than 30 countries worked for nearly three days on improving the MediaWiki interface, building future improvements for Wikipedia such as map support, and improving bug reporting and management. Bringing highly skilled people together in one place ensured that a lot of very good work was done. Even though I've visited the event only temporarily, I was pleased to have a conversion with a participant from Japan or to learn more about OpenStreetMap. Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren Mit Interesse habe ich den BZ Artikel "Vergleichen Sie sich mit dem GP-Sieger!"[1] gelesen und zu meiner Freude festgestellt, dass auch die BZ OSM Kartenmaterial/-daten [2-4] benutzt. Erlauben Sie mir dazu zwei Hinweise: *OpenStreetMap Nennung / Verlinkung* Die OpenStreetMap Nennung am Ende der jeweiligen BZ Grafik Seite ist "sub-optimal". Korrekt ist die Nennung Teil der Grafik, da deren Daten ja auf OSM beruhen. Beispielsweise macht die NZZ das in ihrer Stadtgeflüsterkarte [5] vorbildlich. Der OpenStreetMap Link führt zu openstreetmap.ch. - Dabei handelt es sich nicht um einen "offiziellen" Link; die Domain wird durch eine Privatperson betrieben, welche sich bis dato nicht dazu durchringen konnte die Domain an die Swiss OpenStreetMap Association (SOSM) zu übertragen. Auch das gibt es leider. - Der korrekte Link für OpenStreetMap ist osm.org. *Umap* Um Grafikern oder Journalisten das Leben zu erleichtern, hat die französische OSM Community das online Werkzeug Umap entwickelt [6]. Damit kann jedermann/-frau in minutenschnelle Karten mit OSM Hintergrund erstellen und sie in die eigene Webseite einbinden. Hier ein Beispiel der Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten während der LibreOffice Conference 2014 Bern [7]. SOSM hat vorgesehen Umap auch auf der Schweizer Domain (openstreetmap.ch) aufzuschalten; sobald einer der freiwilligen und unbezahlten Helfer, aus den die OSM Community ausschliesslich besteht, die nötige Zeit findet. I think it's much more useful than in the past where 80% of our coordinates were simply a "landmark". To create this tool I used properties "is instance of"[1] and "is subclass of"[2]. To extract this properties it was necessary to use "Wikidata Query". Now all classes, where an object is a member, are in a numerical array-element in the database. So with an index on this array it should have a good performances. Next steps are to try to bring more order inside this list and support the community to create more "is instance of"-entries in Wikidata. (Only 30% off all objects have such an entry).
