Dear All
There is a mistake on the names of the A2 Motorway in Ticino, the actual osm name are:
- Autostrada Nazionale di Sotto Ceneri - Autostrada Nazionale di Monte Ceneri - Autostrada Nazionale di San Gottardo
There is a mistake with "di" that should be "del".
After a research on some official website I didn't find any source where is written the correct name. But for sure as are written now are wrong, if we follow the italian language rules the names should be:
- Autostrada Nazionale del Sotto Ceneri - Autostrada Nazionale del Monte Ceneri - Autostrada Nazionale del San Gottardo
Any idea how to procede?

Hi G4rp
I think that Swiss motorways do not have names. At least here where I live (German speaking part of Switzerland). They are only referenced by their number: A1, A2, and so on.

What about "Westring" and "Nording" around Zurich? I believe I've heard them being called that in traffic information radio broadcasts (probably in conjunction with the number) and I think I've seen at least "Nordring" on motorway lane direction signs.
Cheers, Raphael
Only in Ticino motorway is named or there are others?

Hi Garp
I think the Swiss fed. agency for national roads... (ASTRA) is responsible for naming motorways. Then, there is TMC code list (used for traffic info from http://www.viasuisse.ch/produkte/classics/ ). Unfortunately the ASTRA holds back this data and does not decide about a licence. At least in this list, there are no road names (only numbers) until 2nd class road and road with lower classification.
Yours, S.

I would leave it up to you. As Raphael has written, there are some exceptions where a name is used (West/Nordring near Zürich) So if these names are something which are used, for example in traffic announcements or in the news, then you can correct it to this name. If no name is used, I would rather delete it.
