Hi,
The Open Knowledge Conference or OKCON for 2013 will take place in Geneva 17th & 18th September. I can't be there unfortunately - but some of the main organizers ( opendata.ch) keep me up-to-date. So, just wondering: Is somebody there from OSM (see [1])? What is the relationship of OSM and The Open Knowledge Foundation?
Yours, Stefan

Given that opendata.ch more or less ignores us (OSM in general), I very much doubt that anybody will be there "officially".

A courageous statement!
Thank you for your clear opinion.
Nevertheless I hope, that the various FOSS related projects and organizations respect each other and cooperate as equal partners if for the good at large here in Switzerland.

I think it's not an issue between opendata.ch and OSM but rather between OKFN and OSM in general!
When searching the web or looking for search results in the blog of the OKFN website [1] I don't find much relationship. There's at least a category wit one entry :-) [2]. To be fair, I think, one has to understand that OKFN and opendata.ch both are (currently) focussing on OpenGovernementData.
One the other hand, I didn't find no activities in OSMF since 2009 [3]!? But what I found there sounds interesting:
OSMF-OKFN: Need to discuss representation of OSMF at OKFN. Action: Steve to arrange call with Rufus.
What about refreshing issues at the intl. level (OSMF=>OKFN) and I could do something at the national level (OSM=>opendata.ch)?
Yours, Stefan

Hi there,
I will be there and hope to have some interesting discussions about OSM there as well. I consider myself to belong to both, the Open Data and OSM community (though not "official" of any kind). Disclaimer: I'm one of the developers of the coming federal open data portal (opendata.admin.ch), which has it's launch event at the OKCon on Monday 16th Sept.

I'll also be in Geneva. Anyone else? By the way, OSM is used to display the conference locations: http://okcon.org/locations/
