Hallo zäme Erfasse gerade die mit den neuen Bing Karten klar ersichtlichen ländlichen Gegenden um den Sihlsee. Da hats sehr viele Zufahrtsstrassen zu Bauernhöfen, bei welchen ich unsicher bin, wie man die mappen soll. http://tmp.dbrgn.ch/screenshots/20121227_131437.png - highway=residential passt irgendwie nicht, ist ja kein echtes Wohngebiet. - highway=service, service=driveway ist irgendwie auch nicht ganz das richtige, besonders wenn es mehrere Bauernhöfe hintereinander hat - highway=unclassified ist aber auch suboptimal. - highway=track passt meistens auch nicht, da die Wege häufig normal geteert sind und nicht nur für landwirtschaftlichen Verkehr genutzt werden. Wie würdet ihr diese Wege taggen? Gruss Danilo

Hallo Danilo, das kommt drauf an. Wenn es sich um ein Dorf oder einen Weiler handelt und die Wege eigene Namen haben, dann würde ich highway=residential verwenden. Wenn die Adressen der Höfe noch den Namen der Hauptstrasse beinhalten, dann käme für mich auch service=driveway in Frage. Und falls die Adresse der Höfe nur aus einem Eigennamen und dem Ort besteht, und das könnte bei Deinem Bild durchaus der Fall sein, dann würde ich highway=track tracktype=grade1 access=yes verwenden. Street name comparison for all of Switzerland

I've set up an experimental street name comparison service at http://qa.poole.ch/ch-roads/ , this generates on a per community base a list of names and compares them to the list available generated from GWR data. More information can be found here http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_-_GWR_Street_and_Place_Names_Compari… As can be seen from the list we have a large number of locations where we have surveyed none or only a very small number of the street names. I hope that providing this service will help motivate the community to improve the situation. Simon

Am Di. 15. Januar 2013, 17:05 Uhr, findet ein GISpunkt-Kolloquium an der HSR in Rapperswil statt mit dem Titel "kort - Ein Game App für die Verbesserung von OpenStreetMap". Es berichten zwei Diplomanden (Studiengang Informatik) aus ihrer Bachelorarbeit. Interessenten am Kolloquium melden sich bei mit einem kurzen E-Mail beim Absender. Hoi zusammen, der nächste OSM-Stammtisch findet am Dienstag, den 11.12.2012 in Zürich statt. Wie schon letztes Jahr könnten wir auch dieses Jahr bei bei einem gemütlichen Fondue im BQM-Fonduezelt ausklingen lassen. Allerdings würden wir diesmal doch gerne ein paar Plätze reservieren wollen. Disparition d'une forêt dans OSM ?

Bonjour, Je constate ce matin qu'une forêt de ma région a disparu des cartes en ligne OSM. Elle existe pourtant toujours en édition, avec JOSM par exemple. http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/32515499 Elle est simplement tagguée "landuse=forest", comme celle qui est à sa gauche par exemple, et qui s'affiche très bien. Le mappeur qui l'avait créé il y a plus de 3 ans a bien accepté les nouvelles conditions d'utilisation, donc pas de piste de ce côté là. Est-ce que vous avez déjà rencontré des cas similaires ? Liebe Mapper, Vom 12. bis 14. Juni 2013 findet die FOSSGIS-Konferenz an der HSR Hochschule für Technik in Rapperswil statt! Die FOSSGIS 2013 ist die grösste deutschsprachige Konferenz für "Freie und Open Source Software für Geoinformationssysteme" und umfasst auch OpenStreetMap(!)-Projekte. Die Konferenz findet damit erstmals ausserhalb Deutschlands statt. Es wird Vorträge und Workshops zu Open Source GIS und zu OSM geben - voraussichtlich wieder mit einem eigenen OSM-Block! Dieser Anlass ist eine gute Gelegenheit, sich über den Stand von OSM und Open Source zu informieren, Neuigkeiten und Ideen auszutauschen, zu Fachsimpeln und Kontakte zu pflegen. Wir hoffen dass sich einige von Euch mit einem Vortrags- oder Workshopbeitrag beteiligen. Der Call for Papers (CfP) beginnt demnächst. Merger of municpalities 2012

There were three mergers of municipality in 2012 (see http://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/portal/de/index/infothek/nomenklaturen/blank/bl…), all of them in Ticino. I've tried to fix them correctly as there led to annoying white holes in my road name statistics, however there may be errors, particularly with higher level administrative entities. The old relations are tagged with boundary=old_administrative, just as boundary ways that are no longer needed. Simon

DIDOK compare map

Hi, I have set up a DIDOK compare map on http://didok.osmd.ch/. For those who don't remember, in 2009 we imported the public transport stops from the BAV (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/EN:Switzerland/DIDOK) The compare map should give you an idea about: - potentially missing stops in OSM: there is a new DIDOK list every year. I use now the one from 2012. If you can't find a DIDOK stop on the ground, you can mark it as invalid on the map. - still existing OSM data for potentially deleted stops. - large deviations of OSM and DIDOK. But almost always OSM is right (except the nodes which are still from the initial import of 2009, and were corrected in the mean time in DIDOK, but not in OSM) If you use the coordinates from the DIDOK compare map, please mark it in OSM as source = Bundesamt für Verkehr (BAV), DIDOK 2012 The map is updated hourly. I hope this is useful, but use it with care. The DIDOK data is known to be terrible in certain areas. Use it to plan your next survey, or find out the correct uic_ref number or uic_name. But don't copy blindly from DIDOK. Michael

bike and pedestrian routing for Switzerland

Hi, I've been playing around with the new OSRM routing software lately and as a result have set up an experimental routing website for Switzerland: http://osm.lonvia.de/swissroute/ It is pretty much a clone of the original map.project-osrm.org with the difference that it offers three different routing profiles: car, bike, foot. The data is updated daily (normally finished around noon) and restricted to Switzerland only. The idea of this site is to play around with these profiles to get a more useful router for non-motorized travel. It already takes into account some extra tags like tracktype, sac_scale and surface to find you a more pleasant route tha the usual 'walk along the big, noisy motorway' but I'm sure there are others I've forgotten. The tags currently in use are summerized here: https://github.com/lonvia/cbf-routing-profiles/wiki/Profiles Try it out and let me know if you have suggestions to improve the profiles. A final word of warning: the times given are very, very approximate due to the way the software works, especially for the foot and bike profiles. Hallo zusammen, der nächste Termin für den Zürcher OSM-Stammtisch wäre der 11.11.12, was mal wieder ein Sonntag ist. Wir könnten uns am Sonntag wieder einmal in Cham treffen. Allerdings würden uns für diesen Stammtisch gerne zwei Studenten der HSR besuchen und ihre Arbeit mit OSM vorstellen. Sie können aber nur unter der Woche kommen. Hi Sarah, I played around with your site and was surprised how well it already worked, certainly better than I would have expected. The car routing worked very well. I guess on tracks with grade1 you are looking for explicit access: vehicle, motor_vehicle, motorcar, which is a good thing because many tracks are in reality only accessible for forestry or agriculture, they are just not marked accordingly yet. The bike routing worked well within your specs too, I liked the fact that it can deal with start or end points on paths, which would be unsuitable (sac_scale) and avoided otherwise. However I found that if you chose your start or end point on such a path, the routing doesn't seem to take the shortest path to more acceptable highways, but seems to continue longer than necessary on unacceptable paths, if that makes for a shorter route. In general, I agree with you that the "Bike" and the "Foot" Profiles could use more differentiation. On a racing bike with thin tires, even a bumpy grade1 track can be rather irritating, on a city or a trecking bike, tracks up to grade2 two shouldn't be a problem, same for paths with asphalt and gravel if they are not explicitly prohibited. And for mountain bikes, well, track grade3 or surface=ground is where the fun just starts. So for racing bikes, you probably want to avoid surface!=asphalt, sac_scale=*, mtb:scale=* or trail_visibility=* in general. For city and trecking bikes surface gravel/paved/concrete/cobblestone should be fine, but everything with an sac_scale>hiking, an mtb:scale>0 or trail_visibility<excellent should be off limits. And most mountain bikers wouldn't have a problem with any grade of track, mtb:scale<=1 and trail_visibility>=good, many of them would accept or even search for more challenging conditions. On foot, I would distinguish between hiking and walking around in a city. For the latter, I'd prefer surface asphalt/gravel/paved/concrete/cobblestone and avoid grass or ground (and probably sac_scale=hiking too). I've set up yet another noname layer on http://qa.poole.ch/ mainly motivated by the suspicion that post-redaction we would have a lot of unnamed roads. This has turned out to be at least partially true. for example http://qa.poole.ch/?zoom=15&lat=47.52631&lon=7.89954&layers=TB0 and http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/SimonPoole/diary/17962 have obviously never seen a mapper on the ground. Angeregt durch eine Diskussion[1] im deutschen Forum, stelle ich die Frage mal hier: Wie sollte der "Schweiz-Zentrum-Node"[2] benannt werden? Aktuell hat dieser Node keinen name-Tag und gemäss wiki ist das nicht korrekt. Sollte man diesen Name-Tag mit nur einer Sprache (Node ist im deutschen Teil der Schweiz) oder mit mehreren Sprachen (da mehrere Amtssprachen) versehen? Meine persönliche Meinung hierzu: in einem Name-Tag gehören nicht mehrere Sprachen, sondern mehrere Sprachen werden mit [name:SPRACHE=*] definiert. Der "Schweiz-Zentrum-Node" sollte nur einen Namen in einer Sprache enthalten - ob Deutsch, Französisch, Italienisch, Rätoromanisch oder vielleicht sogar Englisch wäre mir aber egal, das Beste wäre aber wohl in Deutsch, da der Node im deutschen Teil der Schweiz ist. Bonjour à tous, Je profite de cette liste pour informer la communauté OpenStreetMap Suisse que l'Association pour le Système d'Information du Territoire vaudois [1] a récemment ouvert un géoservice d'image tuilées de type "fond de plan" basé sur la combinaison des données d'OSM et de l'Administration Cantonale Vaudoise (bâtiments, relief et points adresses). Vous trouverez tous les détails sur le service ici : http://bit.ly/OekfaR Ce service web est mis à disposition de tous les membres de notre Association. Il est disponible sur une rectangle englobant le canton de Vaud ainsi que les cantons limitrophes / la France voisine. A titre d'exemple, voici une intégration du service dans le guichet cartographique intercommunal de la Riviera map.cartoriviera.ch : http://bit.ly/Qqp1B0 Ce projet, au-delà de la mise en place technique, vise à sensibiliser les professionnels de la géomatique au sein des communes et de l'Administration cantonale vaudoise aux démarches Opendata telle qu'OpenStreetMap. SOGIS-Addresses

Hallo zusammen ich habe mich mal der SOGIS-Adressen angenommen und einen Versuch für eine Gemeinde (mit rund 4000 Adressen getestet). Da dies ein Import ist, hier der Hinweis, auf wie dies erfolgt ist: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Switzerland/SOGIS-Addresses Von den 4000 Adressen konnten rund 3700 auf bestehende, zu ändernde oder neue Gebäude übertragen werden. Die restlichen 300 sind entweder Neubauten, welche in den 2011 Luftbildern nicht ersichtlich sind, komplexe Gebäudestrukturen, oder Tiefgaragen (ja, viele davon haben eine Hausnummer) oder Zivilschutzanlagen. Falls keine zu harsche Kritik kommt, werde ich die Adressdaten dieser Gemeinde in den nächsten Tagen mal hochladen (mit separatem Import-Account....). Cheers Marc

Hallo Ich bin nicht ganz auf dem Laufenden, wie der Stand bei Postleitzahlen in der Schweiz ist. Aber der Bund veröffentlicht neuerdings die Daten (Shapes und Ortslisten) "Zuletzt aktualisiert am: 23.08.2012": http://www.cadastre.ch/internet/cadastre/de/home/products/plz.html und http://www.cadastre.ch/internet/cadastre/de/home/products/plz/data.html Was beinhaltet Artikel 24 der Verordnung über die geografischen Namen (GeoNV)? Vor allem was bedeutet "Der Datensatz ist flächendeckend über die ganze Schweiz und kann kostenlos bezogen werden." für uns? Hat jemand genauere Informationen oder schon Kontakt aufgenommen? Hängegleiter-Karte

In Anlehnung an die Diskussion zu den Luftfahrthindernissen habe ich mithilfe von TileMill begonnen, eine Hängegleiter-Karte (weiss nicht obs dafür einen besseren Namen gäbe) zu erstellen. Aktueller Stand: http://i.imgur.com/EtZvV.png Die Karte sollte folgende Daten beinhalten: - Gewässer - Strassen - Ortsnamen - Seilbahnen (nutzbar -> Gondeln, Sessellift) - Seilbahnstationen - Andere Luftseile (nicht nutzbar -> Skilift, Transportseile) - Startorte - Landeorte - Fachgeschäfte, Gleitschirmclubs, etc Dabei hab ich bemerkt, dass in OSM fast keine Gleitschirm/Delta Start- und Landeorte eingetragen sind (in der Schweiz nur etwa 12). Das halte ich momentan für wichtiger als die Luftgefahren. Hat jemand von euch Erfahrung, wie man sowas kostengünstig in eine richtige Online-Karte verwandeln könnte? TileMill kann u.A. MBTiles und Mapnik XML exportieren. Gäbe es eine Lösung mit Leaflet, die on-demand rendert? Gruss Danilo

Swiss Open Source Awards heute Abend in Zürich

Open Source ist zwar nicht dasselbe wie Open Data aber trotzdem: Heute Abend (19:45) findet die Preisverleihung der OSS Awards statt und zwar gleich nach dem Webtuesday im "The Hub" in Zürich. http://www.ossawards.ch/award-preisverleihung-2012/ Nominiert in der Kategorie „Youth“ ist u.a. ein Informatikstudent der HSR mit dem Offline Map App "NeoMap" (http://neomap.hsr.ch). NeoMap ist ein freies, mobiles Karten-App für Android auf Basis von OpenGL (3D-fähig!) sowie eine Website für lokale Pläne und Karten (genannt "NeoMaps"). Im Unterschied zu G* Maps werden NeoMaps zusammen mit dem Hintergrund immer offline verwaltet und es wird die detailliertere (:->) OpenStreetMap-Karte verwendet. Die 'NeoMap Sharing Website' ist - wie OpenStreetMap - ein Crowd Sourcing-Projekt bei dem jeder mitmachen kann. So kann man z.B. eingescannte Karten oder umgewandelte PDFs z.B. von Einkaufszentren oder Freizeitparks hochladen, sei es für sich selber (z.B. aus Privacy- oder Lizenzgründen) oder für alle. Vorher (18:00) findet der Webtuesday statt mit dem Thema "Scrolling through Langstrasse". Das Projekt "360° Langstrasse" präsentiert Zürich's urbanste Strasse als "StreetView-like Tour" mit einer Qualität, die einem Kinoerlebnis nahe kommt. Das Projekt hat bereits viele Awards gewonnen. Hoi zämä es gibt auch noch: - verbotene Flugzonen - Start- und Landeplätze - ? grüne - rote - und schwarze Fluglinien (Schwierigkeitsgrad?) - Infrastruktur - .... WIR KÖNNEN NICHT ALLES SELBER MAPPEN!!! Daher wäre es mMn sinnvoll: - zuerst über/mit Verband die wichtigsten Tag's zu definieren - diese zu erfassen (hab schon mal was gehört in Bezug auf Schwimmkarten und Wassergefahren .... taginfo) - Übergabe (Werbung / Schulung) an Vereine (an alle Luft-, Schwimm-, Velo-Routen- / Velo-Trails, ... Und dann ist mal eine saubere Grundlage geschaffen, die viele andere Helfer motiviert! (ja genau - SOSM braucht einen Tag-Minister mit einer grossen Abtl) Gruss, Arthur

Mapping Party am 11. August

Hallo zusammen, da der nächste 11. auf einen Samstag fällt, ist es mal wieder Zeit für eine Mapping-Party anstelle eines 'normalen' Stammtisches! Luftfahrthindernisse insbes.: (Alte) Seilbahn-Kabel in OSM?

Hallo Letzthin kamen Meldungen über die (saisonbedingte) Häufung von Unglücksfällen mit Gleitschirmen. In einem Radiointerview sagte ein Vertreter der Sportart, dass das Problem u.a. darin bestehe, dass 1. alte Seilbahn-Kabel nicht in Karten eingetragen seien und 2. es an (GPX) Daten mangle, die man kostenlos aufs Navi laden könne. Tatsächlich finde ich z.B. den Skilift von Bäretswil nicht in OSM. Könnte da nicht OSM helfen? Weiss jemand mehr zum Stand von solchen als Luftfahrthindernissen? LG, Stefan P.S. I see now the problem with merging boundaries and waterways. In many places the boundaries are still close enough to the riverbeds and they are better than any other information we have. So I mistakenly assumed that today's meandering boundaries were identical (and shifting) with the actual riverbeds, and not with historical ones. I don't know how often I find nodes of highways, landuse and other stuff stuck to boundaries. If you don't pay attention and detach these nodes before moving them, off goes your boundary. And there won't even be an visible error, except if you regularly run a bot that checks for shared nodes on boundary ways. I'm wondering if this kind of DO NOT TOUCH information wouldn't be better kept in a different layer alltogether, at least as some kind of a backup that can be restored on a regular basis. Thorsten

Hi all, http://osm.org/go/0CSYTVpk In this area, the boundary (Cossonay) and the river (La Venoge) share the same location. Would be correct to merge the nodes in this section? (they are strongly related) Or align the nodes without a merge, or do nothing ... Thanks, fredj

Orthofotos mit Gleitschirm

Hallo zäme Ich habe diese Woche gerade mit der Gleitschirmausbildung begonnen. Da stellt sich natürlich die Frage – wäre das wohl geeignet zum Erstellen von Orthofotos? Die Luft müsste natürlich relativ ruhig sein, damit man anständige Fotos machen kann. Zudem müsste man zu jedem Foto die Position und Höhe tracken. Würde wohl ein Vario/GPS-Tracker in Kombination mit den Foto-Timestamps reichen. Hat da jemand schon Erfahrung, oder gibt es entsprechende Projekte? Gruss Danilo

Help mapping non-mapped areas of Tajikistan

Dear all, I am using this channel to broadcast this information to all interested mappers. We have bought and put online a high-resolution imagery of the town of Khorog <http://osm.org/go/zxm5A1KA-->,in Tajikistan. Khorog (30000 inhabitants) is located at the Afghan border, 2000m a.s.l. and is highly exposed to natural disasters (earthquakes, avalanches, landslides...). The goal of our project is to build upon OSM to provide the first detailed spatial database ever. Those data will then be used (amongst others) for disaster risk reduction. If you wish to participate, here is some additional information: The first priority is to map: - All roads / streets / alleys - All buildings - Main natural elements (riverbed, landcover...) Hi Simon Ich habe Mühe mit der Gegend Brienz und Grindelwald. Diese Gegend ist auch noch mager erfasst. Für ein Schlecht-Wetter-Hobby sind alle diese Hintergrund-Karten wohl unentbehrlich? The imagery from the Cantons Aargau and Solothurn is now directly available from the "Background" menu if you are currently editing an area which is covered by the resp. sources (this is based on a bounding box which due to the rather irregular shape of both cantons naturally is not particularly exact). If anybody wants to have additional sources listed directly I'll have a look at it. -- Die Luftbilder der Kantone Aargau und Solothurn sind jetzt direkt vom "Hintergrund" menu verfügbar, falls man ein Gebiet bearbeitet, dass durch die Quellen abgedeckt ist (da beide Kantone etwas spezielle Umrisse haben und die Berechnung mit einem Rechteck erfolgt, ist dies nur grob richtig). Falls jemand noch andere Quellen gerne direkt verfügbar haben möchte, bitte bei mir melden. Simon

Bonjour Frédéric, Personally, I haven't made my own maps yet, although I played with the idea several times. The kowoma map goes a bit in the direction of the Swiss maps: http://www.kowoma.de/gps/freieKarten/osmkowomafreizeitkarte.html But when it comes to the differentiation of different types of paths and tracks, my favourite map is the one from openmtbmap.org. Extremecarver used to publish his style files under CCBYSA, but stopped doing so about a month ago. If you are interested, the last version I got is from 23.6.2012. Salutations, Thorsten (Shernott)
