Here is what I did: First, a polygon amenity=parking around the whole zone. Second, highway=service service=parking_aisle ways for the ways inside the parking. Third, highway=service service=parking_aisle area=yes polygons to delimit the asphalted area. I created several polygons to avoid crossing highway=service service=parking_aisle ways. Fourth, holes in highway=service service=parking_aisle area=yes polygons to delimit (small) non-asphalted islands, for instance aroung trees. I could have tagged the holes with leisure=garden, because these holes are populated with ornamentals plants, like gardens. The redering was good.

Generally, I am lazy and I only draw amenity=parking polygon and highway=service service=parking_aisle ways.

I don't think that the holes should be in the parking polygon, because the islands are part of the parking, even if you are not supposed to drive on them.

It looks like you mixed up a bit with the areas and the holes. The holes should be holes to the parking area, this way: http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/87232848

Also, your parking service ways are mapped as areas, which is strange. You should map the service ways as single, non overlapping ways. No area=yes tag. And then you made the multipolygons to these little areas, which is meaningless. When you mapped it, did it render correctly?

The discussion is a bit strange as ways without tags are quite common for multipolygon.
