Hi everyone,

as already announced on the OpenStreetMap blog [1], the Call for presentations [2] at the State of the Map (SotM) 2020 in Cape Town [3] is now open.

The SotM is the international OpenStreetMap conference and takes place from 3 to 5 July 2020 at the University of Cape Town's (UCT) main campus in the Rondebosch suburb of Cape Town.

We would be pleased about your submissions for the following, non-academic tracks until February 23, 2020:  • OSM Basics: Introductions and information for beginners  • Community & Foundation: Bringing people together, experiences from working groups, strategies and visions  • Mapping: All about making the mapping easier and better  • Cartography: Ideas on how to create good-looking manifestations of OSM data  • Software Development: Software for processing and editing OSM data  • Data Analysis & Data Model: Reflections about the OSM data, its model and analysis of quality and completeness  • User Experience: Tell your surprising story of using OSM as an end-user  • Art & Creativity: Creative projects with OSM There will also be an academic track which will be announced separately.

We will have four types of sessions, which differ among other things in the length of the lecture:  • Talk, 20 minutes + 5 minutes for questions  • Extended Talk, 40 minutes + 15 minutes for questions  • Workshop, 60-90 minutes  • Panels, 60-90 minutes There will also be opportunities for spontaneous lightning talks and BoF sessions.

Hallo zusammen,

wie bereits im OpenStreetMap-Blog [1] angekuendigt, ist der Aufruf fuer Praesentationen [2] an der State of the Map (SotM) 2020 in Kapstadt [3] nun eroeffnet.

Die SotM ist die internationale OpenStreetMap-Konferenz und findet vom 3. bis 5. Juli 2020 auf dem Hauptcampus der University of Cape Town (UCT) im Stadtteil Rondebosch von Kapstadt statt.

Wir wuerden uns ueber eure Einreichungen zu folgenden, nicht-akademischen Tracks bis zum 23. Februar 2020 freuen: • OSM-Grundlagen: Einfuehrungen und Informationen fuer Anfaenger • Community und Foundation: Menschen zusammenbringen, Erfahrungen aus Arbeitsgruppen, Strategien und Visionen • Mapping: Alles zur Vereinfachung und Verbesserung des Kartographierens • Kartograpie: Ideen, wie man gutaussehende Darstellungen der OSM-Daten erzeugen kann • Softwareentwicklung: Software fuer die Verarbeitung und Bearbeitung der OSM-Daten • Datenanalyse und Datenmodell: Gedanken zu den OSM-Daten, dem Datenmodell und der Analyse von Qualitaet und Vollstaendigkeit • Benutzererfahrungen: Erzaehl deine ueberraschende Geschichte der Benuetzung von OSM als End-User • Art & Creativity: Kreative Projekte mit OSM Zudem gibt es auch einen akademischen Track, der separat angekuendigt wird.

Es wird vier Vortragstypen geben, die sich unter anderem in der Vortragslaenge unterscheiden: • Vortrag, 20 Minuten + 5 Minuten fuer Fragen • Langer Vortrag, 40 Minuten + 15 Minuten fuer Fragen • Workshop, 60–90 Minuten  • Panels, 60-90 minutes Ausserdem wird es auch Moeglichkeiten fuer spontane Kurzvortraege und BoF-Sessions geben.
