I'm creating a lot of ways with the tags: access=private highway=service service=driveway source=Bing
Is it possible to define a shortcut in JOSM to add a predefined set of tags to a selected or created way?

Yes, exactly, thanks a lot! BTW, where is it documented? I'm only able to find beginner's documentation on JOSM.

Note also that it is possible to select multiple elements and apply tags to all of them at the same time.

And if you are really crazy, you can write your own JOSM preset: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Anpassen_der_Vorlagen_von_JOSM
This example http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Anpassen_der_Vorlagen_von_JOSM#One-Kli... shows an icon witch add "bridge=yes" and "layer=1" to the selected way. You should be able to adapt this example very easy.
