Hi again,
Following the tagging recommendation of http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:cycleway, I've tagged a few one-way streets in Lausanne with contraflow cycle lanes using the tag cycleway:right=opposite_lane. Unfortunately, it seems that routing.osm.chdoesn't understand this, as illustrated by the following route suggestion:
Indeed, instead of doing a V, it is possible to go straight on the Chemin Antoine-de-Chandieu by bike, as there is a contraflow cycle lane, which I've tagged as such.
What is the proposed solution? Should I change my tagging to the (apparently more frequent) cycleway=opposite_lane? Should routing.osm.ch be changed to understand cycleway:right (and :left)?
Thanks, Michel.

Are you sure about cycleway:right? If I understand the wiki page correctly, right/left are meant relative to the direction of the way. From aerial pictures that looks like a cycleway:left.

I was about to say that I find it a little bit redundant because it should be fairly rare that the cycle lane does not follow the usual rules for right or left handside dirving. But thinking about it further there is some merit in tagging something like
cycleway:left=opposite_lane cycleway:right=track
Not that we do a lot of this kind of side-specific cycleway tagging at the moment but nothing wrong with being ready for it. So, I'm ok with changing the routing profile. I'll have a look at it as soon as I find a minute.

Oh yes, absolutely, thanks for noticing it.

Great, thanks a lot, I'll go on using cycleway:left/right for Lausanne.
Michel.

Done. It's now live together with the latest version of OSRM.

Thanks! Unfortunately, this new version of OSRM seems to misbehave for me. For example, if I ask for a route between two places in Lausanne by entering the addresses, I get a 461 km route going all the way to Schaffhausen, in a straight line furthermore :). See it here: http://osm.li/3E

Indeed, looks like an issue with updating the data. I've switched back to the old behaviour of restarting the servers. Should fix that.
