I've set up a XAPI for Switzerland [1] using JXAPI[2]. Usage is described at [3]. The database does not get updated automatically at the moment, but i'm working on this. The goal is to apply the minutely diffs. I'd really appreciate if some of you could help me testing this and report any problems you have using the XAPI so they can get sorted out and the XAPI would be in a usable state once I managed the minutely update.
The DB is now updating with the minutely diffs and currently catching up. it takes around 6 minutes to load 15 minutes of changes. The update process is driven by osmosis like this:
osmosis --rri workingDirectory=. --simc --rp host="localhost" database="xapitest" user="xapi" --dd --ac --bp file="switzerland.poly" - --rp host="localhost" database="xapi" user="xapi" --dd --dc --wpc host="localhost" database="xapi" user="xapi"
switzerland.poly comes from cloudmade [1].
Probably there is some room for improvement to make this update process faster and not that expensive.
Super! I will have a look at it.
BTW: I collect such tests myself here in order to test my idea of a webservice I named "XAPI-to-Map": http://www.gis.hsr.ch/wiki/Diskussion:PostGIS_Terminal#XAPI-Tests
These blackbox tests can be used for testing your XAPI instance too. Please feel free to add there other typical XAPI requests and usages.
