Chestnuts would be the correct English name, however there are no stalls in England selling them. You can however buy them and roast them at home. Or you can play conkers with them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conkers
Because it's only of regional importance/dissemination?
Is Switzerland the only country which has stalls selling them?
