Hi Simon, If it's only for check reasons, why not compare with swisstopo latest arial imagery [1]? In this area, they are from a 2017 flight with a ground resolution of 10 cm. Or you can simply ask this user? Liebe OSM-Community Wie wäre es, mit Gewerbeverbände/Berufsverbände zusammen zu arbeiten? Folgendes Beispiel stelle ich mir vor: Wir kreieren ein Infoblatt, welches als Einleitung die heutige Wichtigkeit der digitalen Karten thematisiert (ganz allgemein) und zeigen am Beispiel von OSM dann, wie das eigene Geschäft richtig gemappt werden kann. Vielleicht gerade noch eine Auflistung sämtlicher Mitbewerber-Karten, wo sie sich auch gleich eintragen sollen (kann uns ja egal sein, solange wir die Daten auch haben ;-b ). Ein solches Infoblatt könnte dann z.B. via einen normalen Newsletter des Verbandes an die jeweilige Berufsgruppe versandt werden. Ich denke, da wäre sehr viel Potenzial vorhanden, da vermutlich viele wohl noch nicht um die Bedeutsamkeit von digitalen Karten im klaren sind und auch nicht wissen, dass sie da auch selber Hand anlegen können. Klassische Win-Win-Situation. Für die Kommunikation wäre vermutlich die SOSM geeignet. Dann hätten sie auch einen "offiziellen" Ansprechpartner, was in der Business-Welt eher Anklang findet. Lg

Does a fountain flow rate/discharge property exist?

Hello, For the beta.water-fountains.org project, I want to add a property to indicate the flow rate of fountains. In wikidata, this could possibly be done with the "discharge <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P2225>" property, which is currently used for rivers. Hallo Mir ist aufgefallen, dass in Bern viele Adressen ein addr:suburb-Tag [^1] besitzen (z. B. addr:suburb=Länggasse), obwohl das Quartier nicht zur postalischen Adresse gehört. [^1]: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:addr:suburb Gibt es einen Grund für diese addr:suburb-Tags? Würden die eingezeichneten Quartier-Grenzen nicht ausreichen? Grüsse Markus

Map consistency - private floating islands

Hi all, I am working on the map quality using https://www.keepright.at (as well as http://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/) and encountered the "floating island" problem (ways not connected to the rest of the map). I came across one specific situation and can think of another: 1. The way is in a private garden and the only access would be "through" the house (physical entering through the main entrance and potentially entering a garden through a terrace door) like here: https://www.keepright.at/report_map.php?zoom=19 <https://www.keepright.at/report_map.php?zoom=19&lat=47.55724&lon=7.6253&lay ers=B0T&ch=0%2C130&show_ign=0&show_tmpign=0> &lat=47.55724&lon=7.6253&layers=B0T&ch=0%2C130&show_ign=0&show_tmpign=0 2. I have not found a good example, but you can think of a park with limited access and entrance as well as exit are only possible through the building (e.g. a castle or museum where you pay a fee to access other areas). Basic question: How to map that? I see one option for private ways: I would simply add "access=private" and any consistency checker could pick that up in the future ignoring "private" islands. For more public-like situations I am not so sure. Adding a highway=footway/tunnel=yes (+layer?) through the building? Adding properties at the end points of the way networks similar to amenity=parking_entrance (+creating a relation between these points)? Any suggestions? Regards, Kai

Hallo Leuts Eine Noobfrage: Wenn man Höehenlinien wie zB diese von VF.Alps nutzt, sind diese "koordiantenkorrekt"... soll heissen: Darf man deren "Gipfel" als Referenzepunkte fuer das Orientieren/Verschieben von Satellitenbildern nutzen, indem man erkennbare Bergspitzen etc auf dem Satbild ueber die Hoehenlinienemaxima der Hoehenlinienkarte legt? Ich hoffe das war jetzt irgendwie klar genug formuliert. Cheers, Philippe

Liebe alle, Am Freitagnachmittag, 17. August 2018, 14:00 (bis ca. 21 Uhr), findet die 10. Micro Mapping Party Rapperswil an der HSR gleich neben dem Bahnhof statt. Das in die Mapping Party integrierte OSM-Treffen beinhaltet ein AskMeAnything! Zusätzlich ist ein Micro-Hackathon integriert für diejenigen, die Daten vorbereiten oder Software entwickeln wollen. Auch Einsteiger/innen sind willkommen! Wir erwarten wieder etwa ein Dutzend Teilnehmende, darunter auch erfahrene "Mapper" aus der OpenStreetMap-Community. Wir treffen uns um 14:00 Uhr im See-Gebäude 6 der HSR. Man kann auch später dazukommen – ca. um 18:30 Uhr beginnt der gesellige Teil. Bitte unten anmelden; die Teilnahme ist kostenlos. Es wird vor allem deutsch und manchmal englisch gesprochen - und einige verstehen auch französisch, italienisch oder gar Rumantsch! Barbecue und Getränke sind von der HSR offeriert. OpenSchoolMaps.ch - Förderung offener Karten im Unterricht

Liebe alle Gerne stelle ich hiermit OpenSchoolMaps.ch vor: www.openschoolmaps.ch . Es ist eine Initiative zur Förderung offener Karten im Geografie- und Informatik-Unterricht, v.a. auf Schweizer Sekundar- und Gymnasialstufe. Dabei werden vornehmlich offene Daten von OpenStreetMap eingesetzt. Sowohl die Karten(-Daten) als auch die Materialien dazu werden als "Open Educational Resource" bereitgestellt. Ende Nächste Woche ist ein erster Meilenstein erreicht. Gerne nehmen wir Verbesserungsvorschläge entgegen. Und wer Lehrpersonen in Geografie und Informatik kennt: Weitersagen! Das Projekt wurde von mir als Vorstandsmitglied der Swiss OpenStreetMap Organisation (SOSM) angeregt. Es passt zu den Schwerpunkten Schule und Tourismus, die sich SOSM dieses Jahr vorgenommen hat. Dem Verein gehören auch die Domains openschoolmaps.ch und openschoolmaps.org. Das Projekt OpenSchoolMaps.ch ist zurzeit "(deutsch-)schweiz-lastig". SAC/CAS Hütten und die SAC/CAS Nachsilbe in der 'name' Markierung

Liebe Schweizerinnen und Schweizer der OSM, Auf die OSM Karte steht bei viele Hütten der SAC/CAS in der ‘name’ Markierung auch die Nachsilbe ‘SAC’ oder ‘CAS’. Zwei Tage her habeich die Nachsilbe bei der Leglerhütte<https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/4974112539> gelöscht und hat sich einen Privatdiskussion gestarted zwischen BAK365<https://www.openstreetmap.org/user/BAK365> und mir. Als niederländischer Infiltrant in der Schweiz möchte ich nicht meine Wille belegen 😊, lieber es hier besprechen. Meine Argumentation für die Entfernung ist: Ich habe die Nachsilbe 'SAC' entfernt weil meine Überzeugung ist dass der SAC der 'operator' ist, und deswegen nicht im Name gehört aber in der spezifischer 'operator' Markierung gehört. Wenn ich mich das Plakat auf der Hütte<http://f.hikr.org/files/1907874.jpg> anschaue (Good practice 27, Map what is on the Ground<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Good_practice#Map_what.27s_on_the_ground>), dann sagt es dort auch nur 'Leglerhütte'. Auf anderen Karten ist die Nachsilbe 'SAC' oft drauf, auch die Wanderwegweiser<https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-bbrmxUj4XC4/Vct5iXiNzXI/AAAAAAACCm4/EMgQ-D9JXsg/…> machen es so. Die haben aber keinen separaten Platz für die 'operator' Markierung, OSM hat das jedoch. Auch sehe ich nicht wieso die SAC/CAS Hütten eine andere Behandlung verdienen als nicht von der SAC/CAS betriebene Hütten wo der Operator auch nicht im Name verarbeitet wird. BAK365’s Argumentation für die Erhaltung: Es entspricht aber offensichtlich einer Konvention in der Schweiz, dass man auf Karten bei SAC-Hütten "SAC" dem Namen anhängt. Warum, weiss ich nicht, vermutlich aus Tradition. Auf den (Wander)Karten von Swisstopo sind SAC-Hütten schon immer mit Namenszusatz eingetragen, und auch bei OSM haben die meisten (viele? / fast alle?) SAC-Hütten den Zusatz im Namen. Ich würde also nicht einfach für eine einzelne Hütte von dieser Konvention abweichen, sondern die Einheitlichkeit höher gewichten. Was denkt ihr? Liebe Grüsse, dikkeknodel

Orthofotos mit Gleitschirm: Part 2

Hoi zäme 2012 habe ich schonmal eine Diskussion zu Orthofotos mit Gleitschirm gestartet: http://lists.openstreetmap.ch/pipermail/talk-ch/2012-August/002018.html Seither ist allerdings http://opendronemap.org/ entstanden, was sehr gute Resultate liefert, auch wenn die Kamera nicht ganz senkrecht ausgerichtet ist. Beim nächsten Flug könnte ich mal eine Kamera mitnehmen. Die Frage der Kamera-Befestigung stellt sich aber immer noch... Hat aber inwzischen jemand eine gute Idee, wie man eine Cam befestigen könnte?
