Hi all, I could use your advice how to resolve a conflict with another editor. Three weeks ago I recorded a few GPS traces of hiking paths in the Bergell / Bregaglia valley and used them to create relations for the Via Panoramica (relation 14414965) and the Via Bregaglia (relation 14425116) with a variant via Bondo (relation 14425264), all according to the physical signposts on the ground. When I looked again a couple of weeks later I found that my Via Panoramica had been deleted and my Via Bregaglia changed in a massive changeset (124772603) touching 157 ways, 27 relations and 236 nodes, with no source or explanation. There are two new "Sentiero Panoramico" / "Via Panoramica" relations (14449302 and 14449306), neither of which conforms to my survey trace nor the official Switzerland Mobility map. I'm not sure what has changed in the Via Bregaglia relations. A number of tags have been dropped from all of the above relations, others replaced by, in my view, incorrect ones. (I had actually added another Via Bregaglia relation according to the tourist office website. From this, all but one member were dropped. But that website has multiple contradictory maps and descriptions, so I don't trust it and don't mind too much that this relation was practically deleted.) So I started a discussion of the changeset with its editor: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/124772603 I tried not to ask everything at once, so didn't even get to the missing tags, yet. But you can see how the discussion has been going. After two responses the other editor seems to have fallen silent. I'd give him a few more days, though. I do not see any indication how his changes were improvements over my work. What I would like to get to is have my Via Panoramica relation and the dropped tags restored. Ideally, I could convince the other editor to do this but I'm not too optimistic. What do you think? How should I proceed? (Feel free to respond in German if you prefer.) Bus Stop Tagging Guildlines - Help wanted

Hi all, I am trying to add new bus stops following the route change of bus 12.701<https://www.mbc.ch/posts/news/18157705> since 07.2022. Four new bus stops are to be added: St-Sulpice, Castolin St-Sulpice, En Champagny St-Sulpice, Ochettaz-Ormet St-Sulpice, Pré-Fleuri These stops are completely new so I need to create them from scratch. However, I am not familiar with the bus stop tagging in Switzerland, seems that the data are all imported at some time. E.g. where can I find the "uic_ref" data of a bus stop ? Best, Terry

vandalism under the pretense of "simplifying"

A user is destroying precise landuse mapping in Wallis. "Simplifying" in this case turns precise landuse cover into weird angles and destroys the work done by the previous contributors while harming the OSM database. Such moves could furthermore clearly be perceived as aggressive. Hoi zäme Folgefrage zu meiner letzten Email: Wie taggt man eigentlich Blaue Zonen? Ich habe das mal so getaggt, gemäss Wiki: amenity=parking parking=lane parking:orientation=parallel access=yes capacity=<n> fee=no opening_hours=24/7 maxstay:conditional=1 hour @ (Mo-Sa 08:00-19:00) https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1073525278 Das müsste die Regeln gut abbilden (bis auf den Fakt, dass man potentiell bis 1.5h lang stehen darf), allerdings fehlt da die Information dass eine Parkscheibe Pflicht ist. Kennt jemand dafür entsprechende Tags? Grüsse Danilo

Via Crucis (Kreuzweg) mapping

Ich bin auf den Wanderweg auf zwei Kreuzwege gestoßen. Eines war noch nicht da in OSM, hab ich eingeführt. Das zweite, bei Comano San Bernardo <https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/1684665#map=17/46.04525/8.96187>, war teilweise nur als "tourism=artwork" eingeführt. Ich glaube, der Mapper hat es nicht als Via Crucis erkannt. Ich habe ein bisschen daran gearbeitet, aber ich habe auch nicht alles fotografiert und meine Location war ziemlich unruhig. Vielleicht wohnt ein Mapper in der Nähe und kann mal nachsehen? Oder mapt ihr solche Sachen nicht? Fr Gr Peter Elderson

Brücke ist verschwunden

Hallo! Hoffentlich ist dies eine aktive Mailingliste. Bitte entschuldige mein slechtes Deutsch! Survey (Rucksackwanderung durch die Schweiz): Diese Brücke <https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/73591559> ist verschwunden und Wanderrouten sind unterbrochen. Die gelbe Wegweiser weisen noch dorthin, aber es gibt keine Anzeichen dafür, dass die Brücke ersetzt wird. Die Wanderroute 80 sollte dort verlaufen, ist dort aber nicht in OSM gemapt. Es gibt eine Umleitung von Laufen für eine lokale ausgeschilderte Wanderroute, die über diese Brücke führt. Auch diese Route ist nicht Ich habe die Brücke mit razed:highway und razed:brücke getagt, damit man (auch Router) jedenfalls sehen kann das sie verschwunden ist. Ich hoffe das ist OK? Peter Elderson

Hi, I'm not a fan of the current state of public parking spaces in Zürich. Most of them are missing 🙂. During my research I found a list of all public parking spaces in Zürich. They are licensed under Creative Commons CCZero . Therefore I'm interested in importing all these parking spaces, somehow. Now, there is a large amount of work to be done, things to be considered, issues to be solved and learnings to be made. Here are some points that I am thinking about: 1. There are nearly 49'000 parking spaces in this dataset. The dataset is from 2019, therefore it will contain outdated information. 2. The parking spaces are marked as points. I can see that parking spaces can be added as points and as areas. Personally I would prefer areas. Do we have any preference here? I think the map could suffer a lot if we suddenly have that many points in the map. * https://photos.app.goo.gl/L3ydi3a5gWiNbTEG9 * 1. What happens to continous parking spaces along the street? Again, I think it would be better to have them as areas. But in this example, there is an outgoing path in between them. * https://photos.app.goo.gl/oDi1GR7cJyiMDTkP7 1. Zürich has the concept of blaue Zone. Locals can park there with a residence parking card for an unlimited time. The card is bound to the zip code of the home address. So as a person living in 8055, I can park in all blaue Zone parking spaces in 8055. All blaueZone parking spaces in 8055 are marked as 8055 with a street sign. I am not aware of any edge cases. Therefore I really would like to add some label to mark these as blaueZone:8055 or similar. This should be easily possible using some zip code map. 2. Most/(all?) blaue Zone parking spaces are outdoor, therefore I would prefer to start with them. 3. I was not able to find enough information about some kind of half manual import pipeline. I would like to do it somehow like this: * I want to take the raw data * Extend it with additional information like the zip code. * Convert it into a format that can be read by some kind of OSM client. (Which format to use? I would have guessed OsmChange<https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OsmChange>) * Split the dataset into usefull batches and process each of them like this: * Do some kind of automated conflict resolution. There is an already existing parking space? Mark it and put the data point a separate list. * Maybe let me preview each change and press "yes" or "later". * Verify each completely missing point with a satellite image, fortunately we have a high enough resolution to see such lines. Again, edge cases should be marked and put into a separate list. * https://photos.app.goo.gl/PVWrxQnmA76mg8Jp7 * * Maybe, step c should provide a standardized rectangle area instead of a point. For example 2x4 Meter. Then I could rotate the parking space in the client and maybe connect it with endpoints from other parking spaces. * Export these small batch of changes from this unknown OSM client and upload it. * Proceed with the next batch at step d. 4. I mentioned above some separate lists of edge cases. How would I continue with these? * Delete the current data and replace it? I think it would be sad if I remove areas and replace them with points. * I would need some way to query OSM for each datapoint. * It would be nice to add labels like parkdauer and "art" to existing parking spaces. Again, I would need to query OSM for each parking point, see if there is a parking area underneath it, check it's labels and build an OsmChange which contains the additon of these labels. 5. I discovered JOSM. Do you think it is the "right" client to do this? 6. Personally I do like the iD client. Sadly I can't find a way to bring a set of OsmChange's into iD and then using it's awesome conflict resolution tool. Any idea? 7. It will be many days of work to verify all changes. I would prefer to use a really really fast client which let's me fly through each change with some shortcuts. So, that was a lot. What are your thoughts and opinions? Hoi zäme Wie sollen Parkplätze entlang der Strasse (z.B. mit Parkuhr, oder Blaue Zone) in Zürich gemappt werden? Ist es bevorzugt, "parking:lane" zu benutzen? https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:parking:lane Das sieht etwas übersichtlicher aus, ist aber ungenauer, vor allem wenn die Parkfelder dazwischen Lücken ohne Parkerlaubnis aufweisen. Oder ist Micromapping erwünscht, wo alle zusammenhängenden Parkfelder in eine Area gepackt werden? Das fände ich tendendiell natürlicher (und in der Schweiz betreiben wir eh schon relativ extensives Micromapping, oder?) In Zürich sind anscheinend noch sehr viele Strassenparkplätze und Blaue Zonen ungemappt :) Grüsse Danilo

Indoor-Arbeitstreffen im Oktober 2022

Liebe OSM-Indoor-Interessierte, es gab in den letzten Jahren vielerorts Experimente mit Indoor-Mapping und es sind inzwischen auch Renderer, Editoren und andere Anwendungen entstanden, die diese Daten auswerten. Um die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den verschiedenen Initiativen zu verbessern und die inzwischen erkennbaren Probleme der Tagging-Standards zu lösen, möchten wir gerne ein Arbeitstreffen organisieren. Die Idee für das Treffen stammt vom OSM-Event bei der diesjährigen FOSSGIS. Ziele sind Kennenlernen und Informationsaustausch sowie konstruktive Diskussionen über die anstehenden Themen im OSM-Indoor-Bereich. Vorstellbar sind die Weiterentwicklung des Taggings (v.a. Simple Indoor Tagging), fehlende Features sowie auch der Blick auf Kompatibilität zwischen Projekten. Das Treffen wird vom 14.-16.10.2022 in Frankfurt am Main stattfinden. Das BKG stellt dafür einen Konferenzraum in der Richard-Strauss-Allee 11 zur Verfügung. Der FOSSGIS e.V. unterstützt das Treffen und bietet an eine Übernachtung in einem Hostel zu organisieren. Liebe alle Neu kann auf OpenSchoolMaps genau die Stelle angezeigt werden, wo sich ein Material bzw. Arbeitsblatt befindet. Hier zum Beispiel der sogenannte Anker-Link zu "uMap der Karteneditor": https://openschoolmaps.ch/pages/materialien.html#umap-der-karteneditor . Eine solche URL erhält man, wenn man im Browser eine Überschrift anwählt und sich mit "Inspect" oder "Quelltext" den Anker-Text anzeigen lässt. LG Stefan

Hi Kartenpeople Ich schmeiss es einfach mal in die Runde: Würde es Sinn machen, bei Elektroladestationen den Operator auch durch etwas wie operator:type näher zu klassifizieren? Also sowas wie operator:type=hotel oder operator:type=restaurant etc anzugeben? Damit liesse sich schnell eine Liste von Hotels oder Restaurants etc mit Ladestationen aufbauen. Cheers, Philippe

Hausnummern unabhängig von Gebäuden?

Hallo Simon Im Kanton Aargau, in meinem Fall in Bözen, filterte ich alle Gebäude aus. Dabei stellte ich fest, dass die Gebäude keine Hausnummern, etc. als weitere Keys haben, https://www.openstreetmap.org/query?lat=47.49441 <https://www.openstreetmap.org/query?lat=47.49441&lon=8.08690#map=19/47.4942…> &lon=8.08690#map=19/47.49426/8.08713. Ich war etwas verwirrt bis ich herausgefunden habe, dass bei diesen Gebäuden ein unabhängiges Objekt für die Adresse vorhanden ist, z.B. https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/7004539804. Du hast das so gemacht. Hast du das so gewollt und findest du dies gut? In Zürich macht man dies ja anders, wie zum Bespiel mein Haus, https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/31530357. Hello, I find this Alti3D layer could be quite useful mapping path under tree cover or in remote areas. Exemple : https://map.geo.admin.ch/mobile.html?lang=en&topic=ech&bgLayer=ch.swisstopo… However it is not clear to me if this can be used for OSM mapping. https://www.geocat.ch/geonetwork/srv/eng/md.viewer#/full_view/1964cc81-5298… Any advice appreciated. thousands of addresses duplicated in a careless import

With this edit: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/121562483#map=17/46.25232/6.93687 , thousands of addresses have been duplicated over existing well tagged buildings and entrances. I have commented the edit but what would be the correct thing to do should the author not revert this edit? I am also concerned that the same person might do similar things in other areas.
