Liebe alle, Am Freitagnachmittag, 16. März 2018, 14:15-'open end', findet die 9. Micro Mapping Party Rapperswil statt, an der HSR gleich neben dem Bahnhof. Auch Einsteiger/innen von 16 bis 76 Jahren :-) sind willkommen! Wir erwarten etwa ein Dutzend Teilnehmende, darunter auch erfahrene "Mapper" aus der OpenStreetMap-Community. Wir treffen uns um 14:15 Uhr im Gebäude 8. Man kann auch später dazukommen – ca. um 19 Uhr beginnt der gesellige Teil. Bitte unten anmelden; die Teilnahme ist kostenlos. Es wird vor allem deutsch und manchmal englisch gesprochen - und die meisten verstehen auch französisch! Barbecue und Getränke sind von der HSR offeriert. Gerne kann man auch selber Getränke, Grillgut, Vegi-Sachen, Knabberzeugs und Desserts mitnehmen. OSM-Stammtisch Zürich: 16. März => Mapping Party Rapperswil

Liebe alle Diesen Monat gibt es keinen OSM-Stammtisch Zürich am 11ten. Er wurde mit der Mapping Party zusammengelegt. Zur Erinnerung: Die Mapping Party findet am Freitagnachmittag, 16. März 2018, an der HSR Hochschule Rapperswil statt, gleich neben dem Bahnhof. Wir treffen uns um 14:15 Uhr im HSR-Gebäude 8. Man kann auch später dazukommen – ca. um 19 Uhr beginnt der gesellige Teil. Zwei Dinge sind diese Mal neu: 1. Stehe ich zwischen 15 und 17 Uhr für Fragen zu OpenStreetMap und Open Data zur Verfügung ("Ask me Anything"). Und 2. ist dies wohl die Eröffnung der Grillsaison :-)! Wissmilen vs. Wissmeilen

Wir (SOSM) haben eine Reklamation bekommen, dass der Wissmilen/Wissmilenpass in OSM falsch benannt sind https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/47.0265/9.2267 und eigentlich nach swisstopo/Landeskarte Wissmeilen/Wissmeilenpass heissen müssten. Die Einträge sind schon etwas länger her (8 Jahre) und andgesichts der Unschärfe von solchen Namen in der Schweiz könnte es gut sein, dass lokal die Variante die in OSM ist gebraucht wird (der Wegweiser dort scheint auch nur i zu verwenden). Hat jemand Informationen dazu aus erster Hand? Gruss Simon

Mobility Cooperative Data 'Import' Action 1Q 2018

Liebe alle Thanks, Simon! Since we (I) got a new dataset (~1500 stations) from Mobility cooperative with apropriate allowance it's time to define a small data 'import' action. To remember: Goal is to do a computer-aided 'import', i.e. the update and integration action of Mobility Cooperative data of Switzerland. I first report what we've done so far and then I explain, how mappers can support this action. * I've opened a wiki page about "Mobility Cooperative" [1]. * I've changed some nodes (locations, Mobility stations) which had tag amenity=car_rental instead amenity=car_sharing. * I've setup a website to validate all detected and planned changes (415 nodes/locations/stations) with the help of my coworker and the nice sw OSM_Conflator/cf_audit . What you mappers now can do next, is to validate the planned changes (<415 nodes) by looking at https://cfaudit.nicj.ch/project/Mobility%20Update > "Validate the import"! Note: 1. It's real data but nothing is changed yet in the OSM database. The output of your validation goes to a JSOM dataset which will be uploaded at once later through JOSM with a dedicated OSM account. 2. There are mainly two cases when you validate (~200 nodes each): A. "Create new node" and B. "Update tags on a point". 3. In case "Update tags on a point" you have to click on the (small) tag change to "Mobility Cooperative" and can't move the node. In case you recognize that the location of the stations needs to be check pls. fill in "Value for the fixme tag" e.g. with "Check location". 4. In case "Create new node" there's also often unclear from the imagery and the remarks (i.e. the description coming from the original Mobility dataset). So you can also fill in the fixme tag" with "Check location" 5. Click "Good" - or if unsure Skip. Pls. feel free to ask here if you have questions. One thing remains: Is there a volunteer mapper who want's to take over the task (and responsibility) to open a dedicated account for this import and do the final JOSM validate and upload task? Translittérations des noms de lieux suisses

Il y a en Suisse romande (et peut être aussi dans le reste du pays) énormément de nœuds avec des noms translittérés en alphabet cyrillique en russe et/ou en biélorusse, et ce malgré que c'est découragé dans OSM. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Names#Avoid_transliteration > Transliteration is the process of taking a name in one language, and > simply changing letters from one script to another. A mon avis un nom en russe et/ou en biélorusse est justifié pour les grandes villes qui sont susceptibles d'êtres connues en Russie et en Biélorussie comme Genève ou Lausanne, et dont le nom n'est pas simplement une translittération en cyrillique du nom en français. On peut imaginer que des localités peu importantes mais très touristiques comme Montreux ou Davos aient un nom étranger. Par contre pour les petites localités, je pense que rien ne justifie un tag name:ru ou name:be (ni d'autres langues étrangères d'ailleurs). Par exemple quand la Tour-de-Peil a un tag name:ru=Ла Тур-де-Пей ce qui est un peu ridicule. Qu'en pensez-vous ? Meilleures salutations, -- Jonathan Masur

Strava Heatmap unter Zoomlevel 16?

Kurze Frage: Wenn ich die aktuelle URL zur neuen Strava heatmap ( https://heatmap-external-{switch:a,b,c}.strava.com/tiles/ride/bluered/{zoom… ) nutze klappt das neuerdings im ID editor usw nur noch bis auf Zoomstufe 16 ... darunter verschwinden die Tracks leider :/ Strava selber scheint seinen alten ID Editor mit Slide nicht mehr sonderlich zu warten, dort fehlen mir dauernd OSM Daten ... also versuch ichs im offiziellen ID Editor mit eigenem Hintergrund, aber da ist dann eben das Zoomproblem. Kann man das irgendwie fixen? 16 ist viel zu weit oben um das ganze sinnvoll zu nutzen.

Some of you may have noticed that the Canton Thurgau released its 10cm/px imagery from 2017 a couple of weeks back. We've now received permission to use it and provide attribution via the contributors wiki page (I haven't documented everything yet, but will do). The proxy url is http://mapproxy.osm.ch:8080/tiles/KTTHURGAU2017/EPSG900913/{zoom}/{x}/{y}.p… THe imagery should be available via the standard configuration in iD as soon as it is updated. Simon
