Kategorisierung von Haupt- und Durchgangsstrassen / Catégorisation des routes principales

******** Auf deutsch: siehe weiter unten! ********* Bonjour, Je contribue à OSM depuis plusieurs années par le biais de mon intérêt pour les systèmes de navigation dédiés aux cyclistes. A mon avis, OSM représente la meilleure source de données existante pour orienter les cyclistes vers les voies les plus sûres et les moins exposées au trafic motorisé. Dans ce contexte, je souhaite attirer votre attention sur le fait que la règle actuelle de catégorisation des routes principales dans OSM pose problème (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/FR:Switzerland/Map_Features). A titre d’exemple, l’application de cette règle dans l’agglomération genevoise génère des résultats très insatisfaisants : 1) Aucune route « primary » ne traverse la ville de Genève vu que seule la route vers Lausanne entre dans les critères de numérotation nationale (et, à titre anecdotique, il est un peu cocasse que dans OSM la route No1 s’arrête au pied du Pont du Mont-Blanc, qui est l’une des artères les plus larges de l’agglomération !). 2) Les autres routes principales sont catégorisées en secondary et, du coup, il n’y a plus de continuité de catégorisation entre les territoires suisses et français (malgré le fait que plusieurs de ces routes véhiculent des charges de trafic du même ordre de grandeur que la route No1). 3) Une conséquence fâcheuse de ce déclassement est que de nombreuses routes qui font officiellement partie du réseau primaire genevois sont catégorisées en tertiary. En effet, une catégorisation systématique de l’ensemble du réseau primaire en secondary (sauf route No1) effacerait toute notion de hiérarchisation des routes. 4) Ce déclassement global du réseau routier genevois n’est pas seulement gênant sur le plan du rendu de carte, il a aussi des implications beaucoup plus concrètes pour les systèmes de navigation dédiés aux cyclistes. En effet, ces systèmes risquent d’orienter des cyclistes débutants vers des routes trop exposées au trafic motorisé, entrainant potentiellement une mise en danger. De mon point de vue, l’exemple genevois démontre de manière claire que la règle actuellement admise de se référer exclusivement à l’ordonnance sur les routes de grand transit (SR 741.272) est trop restrictive et qu’il faut autoriser des divergences par rapport à ce document de référence. Il existe désormais d’autres données de référence qui sont du domaine public, comme par exemple des schémas directeurs d’agglomération ou encore des données de charge de trafic rue par rue. Je propose donc que des mappeurs avec une bonne connaissance du terrain soient autorisés à déroger de la règle actuelle si d’autres données de référence suggèrent une différence de catégorisation par rapport à l’ordonnance fédérale. Ich bin fest überzeugt, dass OSM die beste Datenbasis darstellt um Velofahrende auf die sichersten und verkehrsärmsten Strassen zu leiten. In diesem Zusammenhang möchte ich darauf hinweisen, dass die aktuell vereinbarte Regelung für das Mappen von Haupt- und Verbindungsstrassen problematisch ist (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Switzerland/Map_Features). In der Tat ergibt eine regeltreue Kategorisierung in der Genfer Agglomeration sehr unbefriedigende Resultate: 1) Keine einzige Primary-Strasse durchquert die Stadt Genf, da einzig die Strasse Richtung Lausanne in der nationalen Nummerierung als Hauptstrasse gilt (anekdotisch kann noch darauf hingewiesen werden, dass die No1-Strasse gemäss OSM am Fusse der Mont-Blanc-Brücke endet, einer der breitesten Verkehrsadern in der Genfer Agglomeration !). 2) Die anderen regionalen Hauptstrassen gelten als secondary, was dazu führt, dass keine Kategorisierungskohärenz mit dem benachbarten französischen Verkehrsnetz besteht (obschon mehrere dieser Hauptstrassen ähnliche Verkehrsaufkommen wie die No1-Strasse aufweisen). 3) Eine unerfreuliche Folge dieser Zurückstufung ist, dass mehrere Strassen als tertiary gemappt sind obschon sie gemäss Genfer Verkehrsleitplan eigentlich als Teil des Hauptstrassennetzes gelten. In der Tat hätte eine systematische secondary-Einstufung dieses Netzes (ausser No1) jegliche Strassenhierarchie verschwinden lassen. 4) Diese allgemeine Zurückstufung des Genfer Strassennetzes stört nicht nur in der visuellen Kartendarstellung. Sie hat auch wesentlich konkretere Auswirkungen, insbesondere bei Fahrradnavigationssystemen. Diese drohen deswegen Fahrradanfänger auf zu verkehrsreiche Strassen zu leiten (mit entsprechendem Sicherheitsrisiko). Meiner Meinung nach beweist das Genfer Beispiel, dass die aktuell geltende Strassenkategorisierung gemäss Durchgangsstrassenverordnung (SR741.272) zu eng gefasst ist und dass Unterschiede zu diesem Referenz-Dokument erlaubt werden müssen. Es stehen heute zusätzliche offene Referenzdaten zur Verfügung, die bei der Strassenkategorisierung herbeigezogen werden können, wie zum Beispiel Agglomerationsleitpläne oder gar strassenspezifische Verkehrsbelastungsdaten. Ich schlage daher vor, dass Mapper mit guter Ortskenntnis Kategorisierungsänderungen vornehmen dürfen, insbesondere wenn andere Referenzdaten Unterschiede zur Durchgangsstrassenverordnung nahelegen. PotM CH 2024: Ausfall - aber das neue cf_audit GUI ist bereit!

(English below) Liebe Mapperinnen und Mapper Die Webseiten des "Projekt des Monats Schweiz" (PotM CH) sind zur Zeit offline. Geplant waren Bänke und Spielplätze in Winterthur. Wir holen das später nach. Nach einem Systemupdate haben wir Probleme, Superset wieder bereitzustellen. Aber wir arbeiten an einer neuen Instanz, die so schnell wie möglich online gehen wird. Das könnte Ende März 2024 sein. Ob es für den "Mapathon & Mapping Party Rapperswil" am 22. März reicht, ist nicht sicher (übrigens: schon angemeldet?). Wie auf der PotM-Wiki-Seite [1] erwähnt, wird das PotM-Dashboard eine weitere, neue Datenquelle anzeigen können: Nicht die Änderungen in der OSM-Datenbank werden erfasst, sondern die Änderungen im Tool "cf_audit GUI". Dieses "Conflation Tool" nimmt Daten aus externen Quellen - hier der Stadt Winterthur - und gleicht sie mit OSM ab. Benches and playgrounds in Winterthur were planned. We will catch up later. Following a system update, we are having problems making Superset available again. But we are working on a new instance that will go online as soon as possible. That could be at the end of March 2024. Whether it will be enough for the "Mapathon & Mapping Party Rapperswil" on March 22 is not certain (by the way: already registered?). As mentioned on the PotM wiki page [1], the PotM dashboard will be able to display another new data source: Not the changes in the OSM database will be recorded, but the changes in the "cf_audit GUI" tool. This conflation tool takes data from external sources - in this case the city of Winterthur - and compares it with OSM. Update GWR address & street data on qa.poole.ch

I've updated the GWR data both for https://qa.poole.ch/addresses/ch/ with per municipality address data and https://qa.poole.ch/ch-roads/ for road/place completion statistics to data from yesterday 2024-04-24. You might have noticed that previously the road data hadn't been updated since March 2021 (the statistics were still current from an OSM perspective) this was due to the dataset we had utilized since November 2012 no longer being available. In particular the data provided by the BfS no longer contains information on the type of the street level objects (streets, points, areas, unknown and none). It isn't clear why this changed, but to work around the issue the analysis is now based on a combination of GWR data from the BfS and street type data from swisstopo (actual provenience unclear). As the street data from swisstopo has slightly different type values and is not generated at the same time as the GWR data we use, slight inconsistencies are to be expected. If you see any unexpected discrepancies please get in contact with me. The good news is that it is now far easier to update everything, that is at least as long as the input data formats don't change again :-). Simon

primary highways in Lausanne

Hello Lausanne mappers, Highway=primary for national road 1 is interrupted in Placette du Tunnel. Highways should not be interrupted inside cities. I suppose the Lausanne road network isn't as well organized as it was when I first learned to drive (and had to follow the “Berne” signs). But are there really no signs pointing to Geneva for cars arriving from the north of Lausanne? In the "Guichet cartographique cantonal" map (OSM-based) at https://www.geo.vd.ch/ the road network hierarchy can be displayed. Rue Caroline seems to be the primary highway. Regards, Marc Mongenet

Hallo Zusammen, ich freue mich, eine neue MapRoulette-Herausforderung ankündigen zu können: Switzerland - Fix Spiky Buildings<https://maproulette.org/browse/challenges/44836> (https://maproulette.org/browse/challenges/44836)! Wir haben in der OpenStreetMap (OSM) Gebäude mit seltsam spitzen Winkeln identifiziert. Die meisten Gebäudeecken liegen nahe bei 90 Grad, aber diese Challenge konzentriert sich auf Gebäude mit Winkeln von weniger als 15 Grad. Während einige davon echt sein könnten, sind viele wahrscheinlich falsch. Die Aufgabe: Helft uns, die Qualität der OSM-Daten zu verbessern, indem ihr die identifizierten Gebäude überprüft und feststellt, ob ihre Formen korrigiert werden müssen. Wichtige Anmerkungen: * Einige Gebäude, vor allem historische, können einzigartige Winkel aufweisen. * Im Zweifelsfall solltet Ihr das Community-Forum zu Rate ziehen. * Die Aufgabe führt euch zu dem Gebäude selbst, nicht unbedingt zu dem speziellen ” spitzen ” Punkt. OSM und OJP (Open Journey Planer

Hallo zusammen Wie genau läuft das mit OSM und Open Journey Planer. Soweit ich verstanden habe, nurzt JOP die daten von OSM. Aber das SKI der SBB hat eine eigene Datenbank. Ist geplant, die Mapping Daten die das SKI nutzt in Open Streetmap upzustreamen oder wie sieht das aus? Falls jemand Hintergrundinformationen dazu hat, bin ich interessiert daran. Gruss Raphael

PLZ6/NPA6 and Lausanne 26

Hello everyone, I mapped recently around Lausanne, especially above the city (but still part of the commune) for example near "Vers-chez-les-blanc". Around here, if you look for example for "Chemin des Coumenets 26" in map.geo.admin.ch, you'll end up with "Locality: Lausanne 26" and a corresponding new PLZ6/NPA6 with the same number "100026" (the current NPA/PLZ 4 number long is "1000"). I'm sure that the same situation is happening somewhere else in Switzerland and that it was already discussed (but I couldn't find anything here or on the wiki). How should we map those addresses (Locality and PLZ/NPA)? Does anyone have further information about this PLZ6/NPA6? Should we already add them in another field? Best regards, Loïc
