Hi Folks
I January there was a discussion about Nominatim and Obwalden covering about 95% of Switzerland.
I've found some more problems in the area i've been mapping.
Village Gelterkinden, Bezirk Rheinfelden, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, Europe
It should be Bezirk Sissach.
Sissach itself is correct: Village Sissach, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, Europe
But anything east of Sissach ends up in Bezirk Rheinfelden. eg these two should be in Bezirk Sissach.
Village Bckten, Bezirk Rheinfelden, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, Europe Village Ormalingen, Bezirk Rheinfelden, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, Europe
These wrong in a different way, it again should be Bezirk Sissach.
Village Tecknau, Bezirk Gsgen, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, Europe Village Rothenfluh, Bezirk Gsgen, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, Europe
This gives an overview:

Does anybody know how to fix this?
Thanks Andrew
Hi Andrew,
[Nominatim is not accurate]
Does anybody know how to fix this?
Short Answer:
Get the boundaries and import them. (cf. Zurich and its imported boundaries.)
Long Answer:
At the moment the districts of mosts cantons are only represented as a node in OSM. Thus Nominatim has to use some obscure[*] algorithms to guess its area. That may work for streets (which is the nearest village-node?) but not so good for districts.
A help for Nominatim could be the is_in-Key, but even if all is_in's are set, Nominatim still uses other sources to determine the 'correct' district.
Regards, Thomas
