With iD Editor or Rapid Editor on web, I simply touch the x key on the keyboard to spit the line at each place where you want to remove sidewalk, then delete the middle part. In JOSM it should be similar. Then add the crosswalk as a line and be sure to specify the paint type (Rapid has a nice interface for this).

You have the option to also add if the curb is lowered and tactile on the node where the crosswalk joins the sidewalk, which helps for wheelchair access and routing.

Nun würde ich diese Gehwege gerne Kürzen, oder vor dem Fussgängsrstreifen abschnippseln, um dort eine Linie für den Fussgängerstreiffen footway=crossing hinzuzufügen. Geht sowas, und wenn ja wie.
