Hi Stefan,

Our emails crossed.

Thank you very much for all your help ... and that goes to everyone as well.

I hope we can get some new reusable water "refill" station nodes added to the OSM space. whether tagged as amenity=drinking water or amenity=fountan and drinking_water=yes

I look forward to brainstorming with you soon about how we should tag cafés and restaurants which offer free tap water for bottle refills across Europe and the Globe.

Best regards,

Stuart

Hi Stuart and Huber

We're finished proof reading the Wiki translation to German!
Looking at [1] you see an almost perfect timing (!) that after
Stanswiki my interns Chilfing (Christopher) and Jwilderm (Johannes)
continued editing.

Regarding the tagging I probably was unclear: I did non want to
suggest, that you prefer "amenity=drinking_water" over
"amenity=fountain". I just wanted to suggest to read the Wiki in case
of doubt.

And having said, that the definition in OSM preceeds project needs,
I'd like to add that you can of course add certain properties of
fountains as new tags, given you want to describe an object in more
detail - and given there's no existing tag in use which covers that
property.

This is very popular in the UK and a proprietary data based NGO called Refill is doing just this. While we wish Refill all their success, we believe that maintaining a large network of places (fountains and cafes/bars) where anyone can refill their reusable bottle without creating single-use plastic waste is best done collaboratively.
