I think there is a misunderstanding here. There is disagreement on how to map forests in this discussion.
Refraining oneself to map forests while this topic is discussed is a good practice. 

This is a simple way to show that we listen to everybody's arguments and that we are open to eventually, maybe, change our mind. I don't think the request were intended to be rude.
